Biden is Too Old

What’s wrong with the leadership of the Democratic party? I’m not talking about Biden; I’m talking about those in leadership positions in the House and Senate: Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) and Minority Whip Katherine Clark (D-MA) in the House and Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and Majority Whip Dick Durbin (D-IL) in the Senate. Don’t they see what everyone else sees? Biden has no business running for a second term as president. If elected, he’d be 82 at the start of his next term and, if he makes it, 86 at the end. Sure, plenty of 86-year-olds are hale and hearty, but even more are not. Why should Democrats be gambling on these odds? They shouldn’t be.
The polls are suggesting that a Biden victory over Trump is a crap shoot; and more likely than not, odds for Biden would decline with a non-Trump challenger. Almost any other Democratic hopeful (save Joe Manchin) would captain the ship in much the same direction that Biden has, albeit with the prospect of a more favorable starting approval rating than Biden is currently experiencing. Just as the Republican leadership told Nixon that it was time for him to go, now it’s time for Democratic leaders in the House and Senate to do the same to Biden. Obviously the two situations are worlds apart: Nixon had to go because he was caught lying to the American public, which, at that time, crossed a line. (Those days, unfortunately, seem to be…
